• If you push a wounded deer, our chance of finding them decreases significantly.

  • If in doubt, back out and allow it to expire in the first bed.  Don't underestimate the will to live of a Whitetail Deer. I would rather find him for you after a few hours of patient waiting.  Regardless of the hour. The stats are in your favor if you are patient.

• Good Blood Trails lead to a dead deer.​ ​​

  • If you have lost the trail, let the drone find it. ​

• How long from the shot can you still see thermal signature?

  • It depends on many factors, but typically up to 2 days.

• How will we know if it is my deer?

  •  The prep detail matters. I don’t know what your deer looks like. The better you can show and describe, the better I can ID him with our telephoto cameras.​

• Can you see through the trees with all the leaves on?

  • We only need a little window to see thermal signatures from above. Heavy cover before the leaves drop can make this more difficult. Camera angles matter here. 

• Can you fly at night?

  • We can fly day or night! And in light rain or snow. State law says cannot search the day of the shot, until after dark. If is the next day, no problem.

• What drone do you fly?

  • We are currently Flying the DJI Matrice 4T and 4TD (All Weather) Enterprise Thermal drones. I have wireless external monitors for your viewing convenience while  on site.

• What camera technology will we use to find my downed game?​

  • The DJI Matrice 4T combines a high-resolution thermal infrared camera with a near-infrared auxiliary illuminator for nighttime aerial searches. Its thermal sensor detects heat signatures, while the NIR illuminator helps the drone’s visual cameras see targets in extremely low-light conditions. Together, these systems provide improved visibility during nighttime search and recovery operations.​

• What is the process to recover my deer or bear?

  • Call us as soon as possible. I will return your call if you do not get me live.

  • Text your location address or send a pin. 

  •  You can fill out the Recovery Form linked above or fill me in via phone or text.

  • Include details about the scenario and last sighting, direction, shot placement, efforts you have already made to recover.  Share timing, any pictures of the target you may have. Last known direction is key.  I need to know what I am looking for. 

  • Based on your detail, I will plan a search prior to getting on site. I can program the drone for a grid  search of the area for thorough coverage. I want to look at maps ahead of time if possible.

  • Wisconsin allows for drone search of an assumed deceased animal. Not assisted hunting of live game.​​

  • I will provide an estimated time to arrival and update you along the way.

  • Before we begin the search we will complete a short waiver together stating you have legally shot a deer or bear, assume it has expired and I am there to help you locate it. 

• What is the cost for game recovery?​​

  • $350 flat fee for thermal drone recovery.

  • $300 if we locate the target within the first 30 minutes of flight time.

  • Mileage:  First 30 miles included. 

  • Mileage after that : $1 per mile, never more than $50. Just covering fuel.

• How do I pay for your services?

  • You will receive an electronic invoice on site.  You'll be able to view your invoice with just a few clicks on our phone and pay electronically with a credit card or automatic bank payment. Other forms of payment include PayPal, Venmo or cash.
